The Writing Center at Ball State has a long history of supporting writing on campus. Our main enterprise since 1966 has been one-to-one peer tutoring. We do this through face-to-face and online appointments, by chat and email for quick questions.
Each year for the past five years, we have had an increase in the demand for our services and have more appointments than the previous year. Students who meet with a tutor are overwhelmingly impressed 97% of students rated their session as excellent or good and 98% of students would recommend us to a friend [source: exit surveys, 1/05-8/08].
We also support writing on campus through invited class workshops, programs for resident halls and student organizations. We would be happy to discuss a workshop for your class or group, too.
The Writing Center is proud to be a part of Ball State's nationally recognized Writing Program which received a CCCC 2006-2007 Writing Program Certificate of Excellence award.
